Skipped the inspection on my Cadillac and regretted it

Bought a used Cadillac CTS a couple years ago without getting it checked because the seller seemed honest and the car drove fine. Big mistake. Within months the suspension started acting up and a mechanic pointed out previous accident damage that was never disclosed. I ended up spending way more than I saved. Since then I always tell people to get a Genuine Cadillac pre-purchase inspection in Dubai before handing over any money, especially with these cars. My brother just used one for an XT5 he was looking at and it caught a coolant leak and worn bushings. The seller wasn't happy but my brother negotiated the price down. It's just not worth the risk.
